Work in the youth center

As I told you before, I am here for a project. Means I will not only explore the culture of this country but also dig into the culture of Kesklinna Noortekeskus. Officially I am their international volunteer but I'd like to see myself as an extra pair of youth worker hands.

Those hands have been doing different things

One of the first (big) events I helped organizing was the Estonian Cultural Evening. About 160 people, eager to learn more about this tiny country and its inhabitants, were present! Most of them were from abroad (I guess we had representatives of more than 10 countries). There were many things to do and many things to see. The pictures show you what exactly:

Other events that have been happening and I have been attending were  'open mic', where youngsters can sing songs or play the guitar;  'voluntary club' for young people who would like to visit different organisations in Estonia and see what volunteering options there are; 'Estonian club' meant for the international crowd - introducing them to Estonian culture and language; 'Hari Krishna meeting', an evening organized by an independent organisation/community but free for us to join..

*Other than that i'm trying to be social with the youngsters who are visiting our youth center
**I'm organizing my own guitar courses!
*** i'm gathering lots and lots of information, visiting different places, talking to different people as a way of preparing myself for writing my own projects!
