Places and Things

Okay, it's time to talk a little bit more about Estonia. Most of it will be RANDOM INFORMATION but since that is what our daily life is about - and  many of you show interest in it, It will be shared.

To begin with: in Estonia people wear TWO types of shoes: pair for indoors pair for outdoors. You wouldn't want to insult your host by making his floor and carpet dirty, would you?
Also your feet would sweat to death if you would wear your boots inside. One day I noticed I was doing the same. While the year grows older, I'm becoming more and more Estonian.

Not only eating Estonian food but also seeing how it is made!
[it doesn't make their cakes any better though...]

It's not uncommon to be invited to SPEAK about my stay in Estonia. "WHY Estonia?"they usually ask first. Apparently it is hard for them to believe that I wanted to come here. I have been to several schools and youth centers now. In fact, I have another presentation to deliver today.

With spring at our doorstep, bicycle trips are in my plan! I managed to borrow a bicycle from an Iranian Phd student so I didn't have to call my parent's to send a bike. You know, bicycles are kinda rare here. Only hipsters and ex sovjets have them. One has the money, the other the Russian legacy.

On my way home, I filmed where and how I was cycling. TIP: look at the surroundings (it's ESTONIA!). Also if you watch closely, you will see how bad the conditions are for cyclists. There aren't any cycling tracks that are separate from where pedestrians walk.
